SXS delivers Spectacle Wearer of the Year for the third year running
One of the most prestigious events in the eyewear calendar was once again held in October in the beautiful main ballroom of 8 Northumberland Avenue in Westminster. SXS was selected to deliver an all in one solution of event design, curation, and production for the third year in a row.
The main ballroom featured the signature SWOTY rolling LED screen system, with a newly designed catwalk stage to allow greater room for the 320 guests. This year, Specsavers were keen to get further space for their guests, so a redesigned ground-support rigging system was built to fit snugly into the room whilst keeping clear of the intricate plasterwork, marble, and chandeliers. Dazzling lighting was provided by Chauvet Europe, Elation Professional, and Avolites, whilst clear audio was delivered to every guest by a compact Martin Audio W8LM system coupled with their DD6 differential dispersion range of speakers. Video control and cameras were taken care of by our friends at Blackmagic design and Analog Way.
Downstairs in the Old Billiard Room was where the party got really under way. Here SXS adapted an extruded aluminium LED archway system to draw guests into the room with hypnotic pulsating effects. This was extended to the DJ stage which was within a ‘cube of light’. Further moving head lighting added to the effect, and Martin’s W8C point-source speaker system was selected to give intense night-club style audio delivery.
