Sound Equipment for Event Production
SXS has a vast stock of sound equipment for all applications. Below is a selection (with pictures) of some of our most commonly used items.
Shure SM58 - The industry standard vocal microphone for live sound. Its great sound response combined with high durability has made it the go-to microphone for decades.
Shure SM57 - like the SM58, but more tuned towards instruments.
Shure Beta 52A - A larger 'dynamic' style microphone, specifically for bass-heavy instruments such as kick drums.
Sennheiser e604 - A clip-on microphone designed to attach to the edges of drums and some other instruments.
Sennheiser e614 - A 'shotgun' style microphone designed to be used overhead on drums as well as instruments such as pianos.
Behringer Ultra DI - A stage box designed to allow instruments such as acoustic guitars or keyboards to plug into the mixing desk without using an amplifier.
Bi-Amped Monitor SAT Box - A stage box that allows multiple audio signals to travel down a single multi-pin 'socapex' cable from the mixing desk to the monitors on stage.
Allen & Heath iDR-32 - A digital processor that manages the audio signals coming from microphones and communicates with the mixing desk to create the mixed sound that is sent to the main speakers.
Allen & Heath ICE-16 - Allows a recording to be taken from the output of the mixing desk.Â
Dual Concentric 15 Inch Stage Monitor - A 'wedge' style monitor speaker that allows performers on stage to hear themselves and the rest of the show.
Martin Audio DD6 - A very compact speaker used for discreet sound reinforcement.
Mackie SRM450 - A self-powered loudspeaker used for smaller events with lower budgets, such as weddings and discos.
Sennheiser ew100 G3 - A wireless 'beltpack' transmitter, with a lapel microphone attached.
Sennheiser ew100 Receiver Rack - A set of receivers for wireless microphones with an antenna splitter.
Pioneer CDJ-2000 Nexus - Arguably the best DJ-orientated CD Player currently available on the market. Can play back CDs, MP3s, and many other formats via USB pen, with a digital screen displaying track information.
