Event Training

Training for Event Professionals

SXS are offering training to event professionals who want to learn more about the crucial role that technical and production elements play in events.   The courses show how this  relates to other parts of events and how to manage effectively their use.

Why is SXS doing this?

Over our 20 year history we have witnessed how event professionals who have a grasp of every aspect of events get the best results for their clients.  Our commitment to continually improving industry standards has motivated us to offer this experience and knowledge in a structured training program.

Who is the training targeted at?

We invite all event professionals to get involved in this training. Typical learners would be:

  • Event managers
  • Catering managers
  • Creative producers
  • Account handlers
  • Marquee and structure suppliers and designers
  • Florists and other aesthetic providers
  • Freelance producers and managers

Qualifications

All attendees who pass the exam will be given an Official Training Certificate. This will be issued by the trainer and director of SXS.   All attendees will also get on-going support and coaching from senior SXS producers and designers to facilitate their on-going professional development.

What are the courses?

We have devised two core courses, as follows:

Technical Production Fundamentals – Level 1

  • This course explains the core concepts of technical production that apply to move events
  • This includes sound reinforcement, staging  construction and safety, functional lighting, basics of decorative lighting, digital display types and application
  • Basic training on how to manage expectations with clients using these technologies
  • 1 day course at SXS HQ
  • Course includes lunch, refreshments, lanyard, and official training certificate

Schedule:

  • 0830 - Arrive for refreshments and meeting other learners
  • 0900 - Morning session starts with overview of what is to be covered, going into detail of each area
  • 1100-1115 - tea and biscuits
  • 1230 - Lunch
  • 1330 - Afternoon session commences including information on being a production partner
  • 1600 - Exam
  • 1630 - Finish and networking

 

Content Management – Level 1

  • This course explains the core concepts of how to get and manage content for presentations, print graphics and screens
  • The focuss is on giving a clear understanding of the core concepts and terminology about content management
  • Concepts included will be aspect ratios, resolution, file formats, signal formats and display types.
  • Hands-on time with software and hardware
  • Basic training on how to manage expectations with clients
  • 1 day course at SXS HQ
  • Course includes lunch, refreshments, lanyard, and official training certificate

Cost

The courses cost is £325+VAT per person per course and includes all course materials.   Places are offered free or charge to people in formal education relating to events   Special rates are offered to existing clients and existing collaborators – please get in touch to find out more at hello@sxsevents.co.uk
